Editor’s Note:  I started this blog in 2011-12 in honor of my unemployed pancreas and the researchers, scientists, doctors, nurses, and clinical trial T1ds who were ALL working to make a better day.  To make a cure. As we stand on the threshold of a commercially viable ” artificial pancreas” — automated insulin delivery closed loop system — it’s time to refresh the content with stories from the finish line. — Mike A.

There comes a time when we heed a certain call
When the world must come together as one
There are people dying
And it’s time to lend a hand to life
The greatest gift of all

We can’t go on pretending day by day
That someone, somehow will soon make a change
